CASEIN - NATIONAL

Rennet casein prices increased at the bottom of the price range,
but slightly declined at the top. Buyers have generally been able to
locate supplies at prices below the peak of the range, which caused
the narrowing of the price range. Acid casein is steady.
At GDT event 201 on December 5, the all contracts price for
rennet casein increased 3.4 percent and the January contract increased
4.7 percent.
Recent concerns with advancing summer weather in Oceania, and dry
conditions, have caused some apprehension over future milk
availability. Some casein buyers have acted to add to stocks in the
near term as a cautionary measure. That is a factor in the uptick in
rennet casein prices.
